Specialization Certification In addition, IBM also offers specialist certification in specific technology areas. A successful IBM Certification student will hold the IBM certification until it is retired. The student must re-validate their IBM certification by retaking and passing the relevant certification exam(s), or by taking and passing the IBM exam(s) at a higher certification level.
