IBM DBA Description:

The IBM Certified Database Associate (DBA) certification from IBM Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise Network environments, or those who want to find employment in those environments, and want to obtain the IBM Certified Database Associate (DBA) certification.

The Database Associate certification certifies that a successful Database Associate has learnt the knowledge need to concepts of DB2 Universal Database V8 through either hands on experience or formal and informal education. The successful Database Associate certified student will have knowledge of the basic SQL (Structured Query Language), understand how DB2 Universal Database V8.1 is packaged and installed, understand how to create databases and database objects, and have a basic knowledge of database security and transaction isolation. These are all fields in the Enterprise Network environments.

IBM DBA Prerequisites:

The Database Associate certification is only available to students who have success fully 6 to 12 months experience concepts of DB2 Universal Database V8 through either hands on experience or formal and informal education.

IBM DBA Required Exams:

To be awarded the Database Associate certification, the Database Associate student must successfully pass one exam namely; the IBM Test 700 DBA (DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals) exam has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5 and is thus only a moderately difficult exam. This exam is available in English only.

IBM DBA Recertification:

A successful IBM Certified Database Associate student will hold the IBM Certified Database Associate certification for indefinitely.
